Offender: Charles Warner murdered a young girl, the daughter of the woman he was living with.
Meal: Charles Warner chose a Big Mac, Coke, hot wings, coleslaw, potato wedges, gummy worms, and fruit cocktail. I got the first two at McDonald's, the next three from KFC, and the last two from Walmart.
Offender: Frederick Treesh robbed a adult bookstore, and shot a security guard.
Meal: Frederick Treesh had a steak, eggs, hash browns, onion rings, fried mushrooms, and a hot fudge sundae. I had the steak and eggs from Carol's Garden, the onion rings and mushrooms from Brown's Chicken, and the sundae as well as more hash browns from McDonald's.
Offender: Juan Raul Garza was a drug lord who convicted killing three associates who he suspected of being informants. He arranged two of the murders, and commited one personally. His crimes fell under the Anti-Drug Abuse act which has a federal death penalty for drug related murders.
Meal: Juan Raul Garza choose steak, fries, onion rings, diet coke, and three slices of bread. I got a sirloin steak dinner from Denny's, which included sides, a a drink, and I asked for three slices of bread but only got two.
Offender: Wesley Baker killed a woman who was leaving the mall with her young grandchildren.
Meal: Wesley Baker received the standard meal of pasta marinara, breaded fish, beans, bread, milk, and orange juice. The pasta and sauce were leftovers from Ultra Foods and Caputo's respectively, and the rest were from Jewel.
Offender: Troy Davis was assaulted a man, and then shot a cop who intervened.
Meal: Troy Davis refused a special meal and received a standard meal consists of cheeseburgers, grape soda, potatoes, coleslaw, cookies, and baked beans. I got the burgers and drink from Smokehouse and the rest from Jewel.
Offender: Ignacio Cuevas, along with two other inmates, held a unit of the Huntsville prison hostage. When prison officials broke the siege, he was the only survivor. Meal: Ignacio Cuevas chose chicken and dumplings, rice, black eyed peas, sliced bread, and black eyed peas. For the tea I mixed Mio Lemonade and Sweet Tea mixes from Walgreen's. Everything else was from Jewel.
Total Cost: $2.99(chicken and dumplings) + $1.67(rice) + $2.50(black eyed peas) + 3.99(tea) + $3.99(lemonade) + $3.49(bread loaf) = $15.14
Offender: Louis Jones was an army veteran who murdered an army recruit on an army base in Texas. Due to the killing happening on federal property, it was declared a federal crime. Jones was initially held in the Huntsville Unit before being transferred to Terre Haute in Indiana for execution.
Meal: Louis Jones choose peaches, nectarines, and plums.
Offender: Charles Starkweather killed a gas station owner. Then along with his girlfriend and accomplice Caril Ann Fugate, went on a killing spre, targeting Caril's family and then killing two other families.
Meal: Charles Starkweather choose cold cuts as his last meal. I choose two slices of sausage and salami, and a slice of roast beef and turkey from the Jewel deli counter.
Offenders: Kenneth Williams kidnapped a cheerleader and her boyfriend, killed her, and then killed another man. For this he was given a life sentence, but escaped from prison. On the lam he murdered a man, and killed another in a car crash. He was last of a controversial quadruple execution, done to use drugs before they expired.
Meal: Kenneth Williams chose the Holy Communion, but also got the standard meal of two chicken pieces, two cinnamon rolls, the slices of bread, two cookies, tomatoes, rices, corn, and beans, and punch. I got the chicken, rolls, bread at Jewel; and the cookies, vegetables, and punch from Walgreen's.
Offender: William Zuern was in jail for a suspected murder. After a fellow inmate told the guards that Zuern had a shank, Zuern used it to kill one of them.
Meal: William Zuern choose cherry cheesecake, garlic bread, lasagna, chocolate milk, mashed potatoes with gravy, macaroni and cheese, and corn. I get the garlic bread and cheesecake from Ultra Foods as leftovers from a previous meal, the milk and lasagna from Walgreen's, the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese from KFC, and the corn from Aldi when KFC was out of it.
Offender: Cal Coburn Brown kidnapped a woman, took her to a motel, abused her, and then left her to die in his car's trunk.
Meal: Cal Coburn Brown choose meat pizza and apple pie to eat. Accounts differ whether he drank root beer or coffee and milk. I got a mod sized pizza at Mod Pizza with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, and salami. The rest I got at Burger King.
Offender: James Neil Tucker had lived most of his life as a fugitive, escaping and being brought back to prison. His first victim, Rosa Lee Dolly Oakley, was confronted in her lawn and shot in her bedroom. After escaping, he killed another woman, Shannon Lynn Mellon, when he broke into her cottege.
Meal: James Neil Tucker choose pizza, two BLT sandwiches, and Mountain Dew. For my recreation, I had a footlong Subway sandwich with bacon, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonese; as well as a slice of cheese pizza from Eatery 425; and a 16oz bottle of Mountain Dew.
Offender: Martha Beck was one half of the Lonely Heart Killers, the other being her husband Raymond Fernandez.
Meal: Martha Beck chose fried chicken, fried potato, and salad. I had chicken legs and wings; salad with iceburg and romaine lettuce, feta and blue cheese, carrots and radishs, ranch and Italian dressing, and crutons; and a potato I peeled, cut, and fried.
Offender: Ray Seward is a fictional character from Season Three of The Killing. He was accused of murdering his wife Tricia.
Meal: Ray Seward chose a Salisbury steak dinner with vanilla ice cream. I had a Boston Market frozen meal which came with Salisbury steak and mac and cheese, as well as a pint of deLish brand vanilla ice cream.
Offender: On June 3rd 1993, Edward Hartman killed his mother's ex girlfriend, who he was still living with, to steal from him. He left the body on a chair for five days, returned to bury it, and couple weeks later lead police there when he learned he was a suspect.
Meal: Edward Hartman choose linguine with clam sauce, greek salad, cherry cheesecake, garlic bread and coke. I got all of these at Ultra Foods, making the sauce with canned clams, onions, and garlic.
Offender: Jack Harold Jones chocked a woman named Mary Phillips and her daughter Lacy. The former died but the latter woke up when the police came in to take photos of the scene.
Meal: Jack Jones choose punch, three chicken breasts, potatoes, tartar sauce, chocolate shake with butterfinger crunch, three butterfinger candy bars, sliced cheese, beef jerky. I got the chicken, potatoes, and drink at KFC, the shake and tartar sauce at Culver's, and the jerky, cheese, and candy bars at Jewel. He was the second of a controversial quadruple execution, done to use drugs before they expired.
Offender: Paul Ezra Rhoades was responsible for the shooting deaths of three people, one male and two female, on separate occasions.
Meal: Paul Ezra Rhoades chose strawberry ice cream, hot dogs, beans, sauerkraut, veggie straws, and fruit with gelatin. I got the ice cream at Oberweis, the hot dogs at the adjoining That Burger Joint!, and the rest at Jewel.
Offender: Marcel Williams kidnapped Stacy Errickson, forced her to withdraw money, and then killed her.
Meal: Marcel Williams choose three chicken breasts; potato wedges mountain dew; nachos with ground beef, cheese sauce and jalapenos; banana pudding; and ice cream. I choose the chicken, wedges, and drink from KFC; the nachos from Qdoba; the pudding from Jewel; and the ice cream fro Culver's. He was the third of a controversial quadruple execution, done to use drugs before they expired.
Offender: Hasting Arthur Wise committed a shooting spree at the R.E. Phelon lawnmower plant, due to facing racial discrimination and being fired. He killed three people, injured four, and tried to kill himself with insecticide.
Meal: Wise choose fries, coleslaw, lobster tail, banana pudding, and milk. I got the fries at Culver's, the Coleslaw at KFC, and the rest at Jewel.
Offender: John David Duty of robbed a store, and kidnapped a woman. He and an accomplice took her to a barn and shot her. Surprisingly, she was able to walk a mile to get help. Not content with a life sentence, Duty tried to cause trouble to force his execution. The first time, he held eight people at medical unit hostage. One of them, a psychologist, took him to his office and talked him down. The second time, Duty convinced his cellmate, to act as a hostage, and killed him. To this day, his execution is seen an example of using the state as a suicicde method.
Meal: John David Duty choose a double cheeseburger, a footlong hotdog with onions, a cherry limade, and a bannana shake. I had all the items at Sonic, with the shake replaced with Bannana Cream Pie.
Offender: John Martin Scripps was a british born serial killer who traveled and preyed on fellow tourists. His first confirmed victim was a South African man named Gerard Lowe who was killed in Singapore. He later killed mother and son Canadian tourists Shelia and Darin Damude in Thailand.
Meal: Jon Martin Scripps choose a mug of hot chocolate and pizza. For my recreation I choose a slice of Home Run Inn cheese pizza and a mug of milk with Sillycow Farms Cocoa Mix.
Total Cost: 7.99(Pizza) + 2.69(Milk) + 4.99(Cocoa Powder) = $14.67
Offenders: Arthur Lucas murdered and police informant and Ronald Turpin killed a police officer during a traffic stop after a robbery. They were the last men to be executed in Canada, the former commenting that this is "some consolation".
Meal: Both offenders had steak, potatoes, vegetables, and pie. I choose Campbell's Chunky Steak and Potato Soup with sliced carrots and celery added in, and well as slice of Eli's Cookie Cheesecake.
Total Cost: $2.99(soup) + $2.00(pie) + $3.99(celery and carrots) =$8.98
Adjusted Cost: $2.99(soup) + $2.00(pie) + $0.49(celery and carrots) =$5.58
Offender: Ruth Synder and her lover Henry Judd Gray killed Ruth's husband Albert, attempting multiple times and finally succeeding by strangling him. They did this to collect the insurance on his life. The crime was the inspiration for Double Indemnity and The Postman Always Rings Twice.
Meal: Ruth Synder choose Chicken Alfredo, two milkshakes, a six pack of grape soda, two milkshakes, and ice cream. I choose a Velveta Cheesy Bowl from Walgreen's, a bottle of Grape Crush and Peanut Butter Cup milkshake from the College of DuPage cafeteria, and an ice cream bar from a vending machine.
Offender: David Alan Gore and his cousin Fred Waterfield were both serial killers who claimed six victims. Gore was spotted shooting his latest victim, leading to his arrest, and the rescue of another potential victim.
Meal: David Alan Gore choose fried chicken, fries, and butter pecan. I had a leg and thigh pieces from KFC, and a two scoop butter pecan cup and fries from Culver's.
Cost: $5.26(Fries and ice cream) + $4.85(Fried chicken) = $10.21
Offender: Karla Faye Tucker and her accomplice Danny Garret broke into the home of Jerry Dean to steal his motorcycle. In the process Tucker killed Dean and a guest named Deborah Thorton with a pickaxe.
Meal: Karla Faye Tucker choose a garden salad with ranch dressing, as well as a banana and peach. I got the former two from my college cafeteria and the latter from Jewel.
